Sheard
Nicholas Sheard was born in Leeds, U.K. in 1969. Today, Nicholas lives in Oxford with his wife, Hanne, and young son, Finn. Nicholas qualified as an ELT teacher in 1990. From 1990 - 1995, he lived and worked outside the U.K., teaching English in France, China and Colombia. In 1996, Nicholas returned to the U.K. to teach and also to study for a one-year Diploma in Teaching English as a Foreign Language to Adults course in Oxford with occasional work placements in France and China. In 1998, Nicholas set up his own language school, English@Oxford, with two partners. English@Oxford is based in the center of Oxford, specializing in small group courses for professionals. English@Oxford also provides online English courses. Nicholas has written several ELT publications, including the "Inside Out" Resource Packs (Macmillan Heinemann ELT) and the "International Express" Intermediate Teacher's Book (OUP). Outside ELT, Nicholas runs marathons, enjoys reading, loves eccentricity in people, and believes that protecting the environment is the biggest challenge facing humankind in the 21st Century. |
